WHO IS WISE?

I have always tried not to be religious because it does not offer any answer to life's questions. Instead, I have, and will continue to believe and trust in God because, nobody is wise and I will explain.

In the pusuit of financial prosperity, everybody, has adopted different approaches. Some take to believing in miracles so they go into either religious or fetish methods to see if they can conjure financial success. In this category are those who go from one religious centre to the other, those who go to native doctors, those who kidnap fellow human beings to achieve their goals. They are always struggling and they end up in failure and frustration.

Some other people see every unit of the money in their hands as a seed that must be planted to generate more seeds. Looks wise but they realy don't know which investments will achieve their goal of financial breakthrough. Some scattered their investments in the purchase stocks, real estates, merchandise, manufacturing, etc, while some believing the power of specialisation helps maximise profits, they concentrate on only one. Either way, whenever there's a 'shake' something like the current 'meltdown', all their investments are gone!

Some people believe in the quick and high-risk-high-return syndrome. Examples are those who place their invesments in what in Nigeria, was known as "Wonder Banks" or better still participate in lotteries, or the various mouth-watering promos going on in various organisations e.g the Glo, Zain, Etisalat and or the Banks 'become a millionaire' exercise going on all over Nigeria.

People 'invest' tokens in expectation of 'great and spontaneous'yields! Yet (most often questionable), only insignificant number of people are 'lucky' in the so-called winning games compared to the multitude of 'tokens' that stream into the accounts of the promoters. One thing is also clear, promoters are cheats!  I am yet to see any promoter that will add a dime of her earnings to such promos to give out to other people as 'winnings'. What they do, if it is honest at all, is to get so much out of which they release an insiginificant per centage to the 'lucky' winners. They make profit from these collections, and promote their image as philanthropists and then attract more purchasers to their products! I am not passing the buck, especially on the people, who, though knew all these but cannot resist the TEMPTATION to join.  Our total unfavourable environment makes anything go.

Looking at all these gimics, all of us depending upon the depth of our losses, in the pursuit of financial breakthrough programs, at one time or another in our lives, become (small, medium or big)'fools' because most often all our permutations never worked!

The Banks and financial gurus we have always relied upon, have also failed! If I may ask you: Where is that earthshaking Banks as Lloyd's Bank of this world! The latest victims are the five banks already derobed in Nigeria while the remaining ones are gittery! Another professional frustration for if Bankers and Accountants cannot get it right in matters of finances then who will?

No wonder the Bible says we should content ourselves with 'our daily bread' or that we should worry less about tomorrow so we don't kill ourselves before our times!

From what I can see from these biblical counsels to the human race, only, nobody is wise. Only God and those who trust in Him. The sum this Prov. 1:7 says, 'Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom' and the Prov. 10:22: 'The blessings of the Lord maketh rich and added no sorrow with it".

Can we fault all these God-inspired words? The answer is 'No'. Otherwise we are caught up by Prov. 30:6 which says "Do not add to his words,or he may rebuke you and expose you as a liar. .

To avoid the imminent frustrations of life, all we therefore need do is never to base our joy upon financial or material prosperity. Rather while we continue to struggle, (which is inevitable), we should be contented with God's provisions for us at any point in our lives.
